There are also a few newcomers, most notably a soprano named Emily Casey...There are lots of emotional peaks in her role and her voice really resounds with each of those peaks.
Yeoman of the Guard not only needs sharp comedic skills, but poignancy, especially at the end. I mentioned Emily Casey. Her character, Elsie, has to be sprightly at times and romantic at times. She has to express humor and longing and sadness, and her acting spans that wide range.

…a wonderful instrument and presence… this role is no exception. She embodied Juliet’s character and grabbed the audience’s attention in that aria, eliciting well-deserved thunderous cheers and applause from her sparkling rendition

...soprano Emily Casey offered a standout performance as Konstanze. Her voice soars as she sings plaintively of her love of Belmonte…

Casey’s musical lyricism meshes with her persuasive heartbreak at seeming rejection by the knight Tamino. Her desperation is a crucial counterweight to the often farcical proceedings around her

Soprano Emily Casey...stood her own against the weight of the orchestra. There is little that is more impressive than a single voice, unamplified, carrying its sound over a full orchestra...Casey delivered poignancy and power, both in moments of profound quiet and in the more stellar instances where Casey resounded over the swelling of the orchestra at full force

Casey displayed her wide range and expressive style in this very challenging selection, negotiating interval leaps and vocal runs with a sense of freedom... Fleming praised Casey’s lovely, even sound…

Emily Casey (Lauretta) shone in her role of Schicchi’s daughter, who is in love with Rinuccio. Laber and Casey have wonderful chemistry and seemingly float about the stage together, with youthful energy. Casey was enchanting in the best known aria from Gianni Schicchi, "O mio babbino caro"

Emily not only sang with exquisite clarity and range, but there wasn’t an inorganic moment in her presence on stage as she seamlessly embodied the character of Hannah

But the show belongs to Emily Casey’s Nurse Lola. With her helium-voiced soubrette-soprano, stunning looks, flawless comic timing and a naughty-nurse costume that deserves its own billing, Casey channels the best of the big-hearted, bubble-headed comic heroines of the past, and provides the show with an IV of adrenaline

A special mention goes to the dramatic abilities of Emily Casey as a stalwart pistol toting Donna Elvira…
