Yeoman of the Guard

In the Tower of London, an innocent Colonel Fairfax awaits execution. To avoid leaving his estate to his wicked cousin (and false accuser), Fairfax secretly weds a strolling singer, Elsie Maynard. Her performing partner, the jester Jack Point, loves Elsie but goes along with the ploy knowing that she’ll be a widow within the hour. Then a rapid turn of events sets up a series of plot twists and fate is fooled for all involved. Accompanied by a truly majestic score, The Yeomen of the Guard is Gilbert & Sullivan’s most poignant and moving work.
